After completing the Bridges and Tunnels project for Reckonize Real, Rasheed requested we edit his music video for Epic Tales, which was the first single to be released from the album.

Rasheed had his cameraman @quentinfilmz shoot all the raw footage and then sent it our way to edit. The great thing about this project was that we had no idea what we would receive and what they expected from us.

“It’s opportunities like these that gets our creative juices flowing and forces us to think outside the box.”

Keep reading as we explain our creative process of editing this music video for Rasheed Chappell.

Project Overview

Rasheed did request we create the same comic book style effect which we used for the bridges and tunnels promotional video. Unfortunately, the video footage we did receive was recorded mostly at night and the comic book effect works best with bright colours.

Never the lest we had other concepts in mind to try out for this video

The track is called Epic Tales, so the first thing that came to our minds was old leather-bound books, so we created a book for the opening scene revealing an image of the artist and producer.

We did not want to over-complicate the editing process, so we kept it simple.

Breaking the down our design process into four stages, made completing this project on time a lot easier.

1. Introduction

The track is called Epic Tales, so the first thing that came to our minds was old leather-bound books, so we created a book for the opening scene revealing an image of the artist and producer.

It was important for the introduction to be engaging to the viewer, so adding motion from a 3D camera zooming out to reveal the context of the book was a great trick to keep the viewer’s intrigued.

2. Theme

rasheed first verse

We begin the video with an image of Rasheed alongside the text of the verse.
